Who am I?

I am Anthony, a writer and editor in Beijing. My creative projects include Poetry x Music and the Spittoon Literary Arts Collective. I’ve been writing poetry for 20+ years because I believe it is a worthy pursuit. Here is some of my previously published work.

Why subscribe?

If you’re interested in poetry from Beijing, that’s as good a reason as any. But also — while there’s a lot of smart reportage and other prose focused on China, poetry offers something deeper: an emotion, a color, an inspiration… Of course I don’t pretend that the poems here — many of them written in the moment, for the moment — always achieve those ideals, but I still think there’s value in trying to capture a mood, a movement, to extract and crystallize a fleeting something from the daily grind of this dynamic metropolis.
