One Way or Another
What of the uncomfortable / pursuit of something we agree on / even as we disagree
One Way or Another
One adequate day after another
passed, one grievance tolerated
and another ignored, one abuse
aberrance, one malpractice one
treachery, one racket and fraud
deemed acceptable, one accept-
able oppression, casual betrayal
and breach and detention, one
expulsion more, reciprocation
ruse, demolition, desecration,
one more perfidy unpunished
and atrocity, and what of it?
Sometimes this place. Why and
how. What of the uncomfortable
pursuit of something we agree on
even as we disagree, as we argue,
raising our voices and unsatisfied
unrelenting and unrepentant yet
knowing we’re stuck with one
another, we’ll make it one way
or another, it’ll have to work
one way or another?

Powerful poem, Anthony. Certainly reflects what's happening now. And I like the way you got the phrase "What of it?" into the poem.
