The Moon
On this rooftop bar called Moonee
The Drum and Bell hovers like a creep
The China World Trade Tower leers
At no one in particular. Who out there wants to hear
From us anyway on this terrace during COVID and fear
Or some approximation of it
Seeking fun, or some approximation, half-exposed limbs
Wiggling under specks of dust and sky
The night is upside-down. We could fall to freedom
If we believed in it
We could be saved
Looking up at the ground dropping beneath our feet
If we wanted it
The Moon rises, fades
As we think on how we will never age never
Leave this place
